From the A1: turn off at Scotch Corner or Catterick Bridge to Richmond. In Richmond take the B6270 through Reeth and continue to Low Row. Pass the Punch Bowl pub on your right and travel through the village about a third of a mile.  Look for   a barn with green tatty doors on your right. Take the track which starts by the barn and goes up behind the row of cottages- called Brown Hills, straight on for approx 1/3 mile passing through a shallow ford up to Laykin.

There is a stone with Laykin 1/3 mile on your right just as you pass the back of the cottages.

Then

Go through, Muker, and Gunnerside and as you enter Low Row look out for a brown sign on your right for Hazel Brow Farm Visitor Centre, approx 20 yards beyond this on the left is the entrance of the road leading to Laykin. It is between a small cottage with a small white conservatory and a barn with green wooden doors.

NB

It is a very sharp turn left to get onto our track- sometimes it is easier to carry on past the turn, go into the village and turn around in the Punchbowl Inn car park.

Once you are on our track…keep straight on through a wood and water splash and keep going, as you take the sharp bend keep to the left hand side as this is less steep. Laykin is at the end of this track

Please take care whilst driving on the track. There is parking both to the side of the cottage and beyond the cottage straight ahead of you. Please do not block the top gate.

Please also note that the track is not suitable for cars with low suspension (eg sports cars!) Please also note that Satnav will take you to the village of Blades from which there is no access to Laykin!
